All-natural hair removal: DIY sugaring recipe

When it comes to summer hair removal, shaving can leave you with unsightly stubble and waxing can be oh, so expensive and painful – and extremely difficult to DIY without risking a disaster!
Whether you’re looking for a less painful hair removal remedy or one you can DIY, give sugaring a try.
Not only is sugaring all-natural, it’s just as effective but considerably less painful than waxing (since it doesn’t stick to the skin as much!). Plus, it’s also easier to DIY since it’s far less difficult to remove sugar from an area you unintentionally covered with wax (but don’t want to remove) than it is with wax!
Ready to DIY it?

Try this DIY Sugaring Recipe…
1 cup white cane sugar
1 cup honey
2 Tbsp lemon juice (strain to remove pulp/seeds/etc)
Cornstarch, as needed
Over medium heat, combine all ingredients and stir constantly to ensure even heating until mixture begins to boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 25 minutes. (It should be a dark amber color.) Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Once cool, apply a thin layer of cornstarch to clean and dry skin to prevent sticking and then, using a popsicle stick, apply a thin layer of sugaring wax in the direction of your hair growth. Cover with a thin sheet of cotton fabric and rub in the direction of the hair growth. Pulling skin taught, pull off cotton, sugar and hair in the opposite direction of your hair growth.
Rinse off any remaining sugaring wax.
If the mixture gets too hard, return to heat and add water to thin it out.
